Money Makin' Mexicano: Fall Music For Cloudplum 4: Japan

Recommended Listening / DJ Mixtape

My favorite DJ related thing to do for the last four years has been my annual Fall Music For Cloudplum Mixtape. What started out as me making a live mix on a Texas Fall day a few years ago, has turned into an on going series related to my favorite season…

Homemade banh bao. Filling: ground pork, garlic, onions, scallions, ginger, fish sauce, and sesame oil.

Banh Tom Chien.  Fried shrimp with taro and yams.  Making this for Thanksgiving dinner.  The video is in Vietnamese, and she puts beer in her batter!  You crazy for that one Cathy.  Kinda diggin the intro music.

Here’s a similar recipe.

Mmmmmmm pi.

Mind is officially blown. #pi

French fries + onion rings = potato rings.  Whoa!  From a lovely, recently discovered food blog Spoon Fork Bacon.

Basil pork and tofu. Modified from this recipe. Stir fry garlic, Thai peppers, and lemongrass until fragrant, about 2 minutes. Add ground pork until fully cooked. Add tofu, breaking it up. Add fish sauce, soy sauce, and sugar to taste. Add sliced squash and zucchini for about 1 minute. Add basil for another minute. Season with salt and pepper.

Not the prettiest picture, but oh so tasty.
